Hello there, and thank you for visiting our website.  We hope you will get a chance to also visit us in person at the Shop where you will be assured of a warm welcome by the Team.

I, myself, have never been good at art - I can’t even draw a straight line - so I was more surprised than anyone when I decided to have a go at card-making.  I never thought I’d be able to produce such lovely cards, but with a little effort and perseverance, and the use the high quality materials and ‘tools of the trade’ that are available these days, the job is easier than it looks !

These days, my main day-to-day activities are the design and production of our hand-made Wedding Stationery.  Our bespoke designs are put together specifically around our Customer's requirements, so no two designs are ever the same.

My favourite card-making techniques are Decoupage and Iris Folding as I find these techniques very therapeutic, giving such rewarding results.  I am always excited as I get to the end of an Iris Folding project looking at the chaotic mess that I’ve been working on, only to turn it over to see the dramatic finished design.  It is also a good way of using up small scraps of my favourite papers.

I also very much enjoy being involved with our Workshops.  We have a lot of fun trying out different ideas, and I always come away learning something new !

Since 'Day One' of trading, Visitors to our Shop were greeted by Annie, my beloved dog, who sadly passed away at the beginning of this year.  We all miss her very much but now our home is more manic than ever as it's been taken over by a very mischievous Netherland Dwarf rabbit, named Hugo !  He greeted me the other evening with a total look of innocence in his eyes - and a mouth full of wallpaper from the newly decorated hall wall !  Hey ho, it's all fun !

Jennifer

Hi, I’m Jennifer.  I have had an interest in Crafts for many years, all starting when my Mum and Grandma started teaching me to knit and to sew at the tender age of just 7!  Since then, this has developed with tapestry and cross-stitch being added (still one of my favourite things to do instead of watching the TV!)

Over the years, I have tried many different crafts and have eventually settled on cross-stitching, card-making, Christmas tree decorations and gifts as my main areas of interest.  I still enjoy exploring other new crafts as they come along.  I always tell others that I am “crafty”, not “arty”.

I have also been working on my own Wedding Stationery designs for our Consultation Room, and everyone, including myself, has been delighted with the results.

I really enjoy meeting like-minded people at the Shop and swapping ideas and encouraging others to “have a go”.  The Classes that I have recently helped to run have been a great source of inspiration, fun and a great adventure for me.

Paula

My name is Paula and my interests are card-making, knitting and meeting people.

I have two beautiful grandchildren named Poppy and Jack.  Jack is only 5 months old and Poppy is nearly 7.  She loves to make cards for her friends.

I love to make book-a-trix cards and anything to do with fairies and fantasy, but I always like to try something different !

I hope to see you at the Shop soon.

Rosie

Hello everyone - I'm Rosie.

I've been card-making since the year 2000 when I started parchment work.  Although I enjoy this technique, and the finished results are beautiful, it does take a long time.  This prompted me to try lots of other things including jewellery making, iris folding, prick & stitch cards, stamping and shrink plastic work, but my favourite is decoupage.

I've collected so many craft items that Guests have to pre-book a bed to give me plenty of time to clear my Craft Room, which doubles up as a spare bedroom !

I hope to see you all soon.

Linda

Hi, I'm Linda.

I first came into the shop about 2 years ago, and I've never looked back !  I was just beginning to think about making cards, and was given lots of encouragement to 'have a go' by Julie and the team.

I have since gone on to learn Iris Folding, Decoupage, Pyramage and, late last year, I began to learn Parchment Craft, which I really enjoy.

My husband and I have just celebrated our Silver Wedding by renewing our Wedding Vows and my latest new craft is Scrapbooking so that I can display our photos.  I think this will be a long project as we have lots of photos, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.

I really enjoy the time I spend in the shop and enjoy putting into practice all the new ideas I pick up, once I get home.

Clare

I started making cards a couple of years ago as part of  my occupational therapy following an injury to my arm - and I have never looked back.  It was at this point that I first came to Cards Galore and I found a very enthusiastic group of people who, like me, lived and breathed craft work !

I didn't realise how rewarding craft work can be and over the past 18 months I have developed skills in other areas ; making costume jewellery is one of my favourite pastimes.  I also make jewellery stands which, like my jewellery, are one-off creations, never to be duplicated !!!

Originally the jewellery was for for my family and friends but as I made and more, I began having parties, which have proved to be a great success.

I work part-time as a Care Assistant at a local Residential Home, where I have been doing jewellery making with the service users.  This has also proved to be a great success and very rewarding for both the ladies taking part, and for myself.

The main benefit from all of my craft work is the fact that, not only do I enjoy doing it, but I find it is very relaxing, and I could quite happily do it full time !

Marie

Hello, everyone.  I'm Marie - once seen, never forgotten !

I taught myself jewellery making about 12 years ago and progressed over the years with more confidence, enabling me to sell my work at Craft Fayres and to friends and family.

Like most Crafters, I tried my hand at lots of other areas in the crafting field, but mainly Scrapbooking and Card-Making.  I still enjoy making cards, with my favourite technique being Decoupage, and using the Glitter Girls' "Book-a-Trix" Board.

You've probably seen me demonstrating how to make my jewellery ranges as jewellery making seems to have re-surfaced with a vengance !

I am also kept very busy at home as I have a 'Little Madam", aka a yorkshire terrier (or should that be yorkshire terror) by the name of Bramble, although I am thinking of re-naming her Houdini, as she keeps escaping !  We also have a very talkative orange winged, green Amazon parrot called Chester, who's a right character and a laugh a minute !

I look forward to meeting you and to sharing ideas with other Crafters.
